Form

A scoring trait that checks whether your response obeys the task's length and format rules, independent of its quality. Summarize Written Text must be a single sentence of 5–75 words; the essay must run 200–300 words; Summarize Spoken Text requires 50–70 words on PTE Academic and 20–30 words on PTE Core. The automated scorer counts words and sentence structure exactly, so exceeding or undershooting a limit forfeits form marks no matter how good the writing is. Checking the on-screen word count before submitting is one of the simplest score protections available.
