PTE exam dates in India
There are no fixed PTE exam dates. Each Pearson centre in India opens its own sessions, and you book an open seat in myPTE from 24 hours to 6 months ahead. This page shows how to find a date in your city, which cities have centres, how far ahead to book, and a month-by-month plan worked back from your deadline.
PTE has no national exam calendar. Each centre opens its own slots, and you book a seat in myPTE. These are the rules that shape when you can sit.

PTE has no national exam dates; the only live answer is the availability search in myPTE.
Each Pearson centre opens its own sessions through the year, and seats are released on a rolling basis rather than in a published calendar. Any page that prints “PTE exam dates 2026” for India is either copying one centre’s availability on one day or guessing. The myPTE search shows the next open slot at each centre for the test you choose.
The useful questions are different ones: which centre near you has seats, how far ahead to book, and how much time to leave before a deadline. The tables above answer those, and the steps below show how to check a date in two minutes.
Key points
Search Pearson’s availability tool for your city, then book in myPTE with your passport details exactly.
Open Pearson’s test centres and fees page, choose the test under Check availability (PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Core) and search for your city. The search opens in myPTE and lists the nearby centres with their next available slots.
Sign in or create a myPTE account, using your name and date of birth exactly as they appear on your passport, then pick the centre, date and time and pay. Keep the confirmation email; it has the centre address and the time to arrive.
If your city is not on the list above, look at the nearest centres in the same state as well as the next one along the highway. Punjab, Haryana and Gujarat have several centres each, so a short trip often finds an earlier seat.
Key points
Book about three months ahead, and sit the first attempt about eight weeks before any deadline.
Pearson does not publish waiting times, and availability changes by city and by day, so treat the dates you see in myPTE as the real constraint and check them before you set a study plan. Booking about three months ahead keeps the choice of centre and time, and still leaves the free-reschedule window open if your preparation runs behind.
Booking a week or two ahead is possible, but inside 14 days you lose the reschedule option and part or all of the fee if plans change. Against a deadline, sit the first attempt about eight weeks before it.
Results usually arrive within two business days and can take up to five; a new test can be booked only once the last result is in; and an institution can see a sent score about 48 hours after the send. Eight weeks leaves room for one retake without a rush.
Key points
Bring your original, non-expired passport with a name that matches the booking, or you cannot sit the test.
Pearson does not accept photocopies of the passport, even certified ones, and a name that does not match the booking means you cannot sit the test and lose the fee. If your passport is with an embassy for a visa, ask for it back before the test day.
Arrive at the time on the confirmation email for the identity check, signature and palm vein scan. The test itself takes about two hours; the exam pattern sets out the parts and timing.
Key points
A seat is easy to book and expensive to waste, so measure your scores before you pay.
Sit the free full mock test first: it gives the overall and four skill scores against the target your university or visa sets.
If every skill clears the target with a few points to spare, book. If not, the mock shows which skill to work on and roughly how many weeks to add before choosing a date.
