Last updated: 17 June 2026
1.Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how EdKnot Technologies Private Limited ("EdKnot", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares personal information when you use the EdKnot website, PTE practice platform, PTE mock tests, AI scoring, score-planning tools, support channels, and related services.
- This policy applies to EdKnot PTE preparation services only.
- PTE includes PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI, and PTE Core preparation where available on EdKnot.
- By using EdKnot, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
2.Information we collect from you
EdKnot collects information needed to create accounts, provide PTE practice, evaluate responses, process payments, maintain security, and support learners.
- Account details such as name, email address, phone number, country, city, login credentials, and profile settings.
- PTE practice activity such as answers, writing responses, speaking recordings, mock-test attempts, scores, analytics, progress history, and review notes.
- Support and communication history, including messages, screenshots, issue details, feedback, and partnership enquiries.
3.Payment and billing information
When you make a purchase, payment details may be processed by third-party payment gateways, banks, card networks, or wallet providers. EdKnot may receive transaction references, payment status, billing details, invoice details, plan information, and fraud-prevention signals.
- EdKnot does not intentionally store full card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, banking passwords, or complete payment credentials.
- Payment partners may process payment data according to their own security standards and privacy policies.
- Failed, pending, refunded, or disputed payments may require retaining transaction records for support and audit purposes.
4.Cookies, analytics, and technical data
EdKnot may collect technical and usage information to keep sessions secure, understand product performance, detect abuse, improve reliability, and maintain the user experience.
- Examples may include IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, feature usage, timestamps, crash logs, and approximate location derived from network data.
- Cookies may be used for login sessions, security, preferences, analytics, performance, and optional marketing or remarketing where enabled.
- Analytics and other non-essential cookies are used only after you accept them in the site's cookie banner. You can decline, and you can change your choice at any time by clearing the site's cookies; essential cookies needed for security and core functionality remain active.
- Login, registration, and password-reset pages are protected by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to prevent abuse; the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that processing.
- You can control cookies through browser settings, but some account, payment, practice, or security features may stop working if essential cookies are disabled.
5.How we use information
EdKnot uses personal information to deliver PTE preparation services and maintain the platform.
- Create and manage accounts, plans, practice access, mock tests, score reports, and learner progress.
- Generate AI-assisted PTE scoring, feedback, transcripts, analytics, recommendations, and review workflows.
- Send account, support, transactional, security, product, subscription, and optional marketing communications.
- Improve PTE content quality, product features, scoring workflows, fraud prevention, security, and support operations.
6.How AI processes PTE responses
EdKnot may use automated and AI-assisted systems to process PTE speaking, writing, reading, listening, and mock-test responses. This may include converting audio to text, analyzing pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary, coherence, content coverage, timing, and other preparation signals.
- AI scoring is used for practice guidance and is not an official PTE result.
- AI feedback may differ from official exam scoring, human review, or receiving-organization decisions.
- EdKnot AI systems do not make visa, admission, employment, professional registration, or official score decisions.
7.Data retention and deletion
EdKnot keeps personal information for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, maintain learning history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, detect misuse, support audits, and protect platform integrity.
- PTE attempts, recordings, written answers, scores, analytics, and plan records may be retained to preserve learning history and support review features.
- Some records may be retained after account closure where required for compliance, fraud prevention, payment records, security, disputes, or legitimate operational reasons.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing [email protected] from your registered email. Verified requests are actioned within 30 days, except for records we must retain for the legal and operational reasons above.
- Deleting an account permanently removes access to practice history, scores, recordings, analytics, and support context.
8.Data sharing and service providers
EdKnot does not sell personal information. Information may be shared only where needed to operate, secure, improve, or support the PTE preparation service, or where required by law.
- Service providers may include hosting, database, analytics, email, messaging, payment, fraud-prevention, customer support, logging, monitoring, and AI infrastructure providers.
- Current key providers include Razorpay (payments), Microsoft Azure (hosting and email delivery), Cloudflare (content delivery and security), Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise (abuse prevention), MSG91 (SMS verification), PostHog (product analytics), and Sentry (error monitoring). This list may change as the service evolves.
- Institute, teacher, or partner plans may allow authorized administrators to view learner activity, access status, scores, or progress where the learner is connected to that organization.
- Information may be disclosed to comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, protect rights, or respond to lawful requests.
9.International processing
If EdKnot serves users or uses service providers in different regions, personal information may be processed in India or other countries where EdKnot, its infrastructure, or its service providers operate.
- Data protection rules may vary by country.
- EdKnot uses reasonable safeguards when transferring or processing information across regions.
- Users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information through practice answers or support messages.
10.Security measures
EdKnot uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, secure authentication practices, encrypted passwords, protected infrastructure, monitoring, backups, and limits on employee or contractor access.
- Speaking recordings, written answers, score records, and account data are protected according to their sensitivity and operational use.
- Payment credentials are handled by payment partners rather than stored directly by EdKnot wherever possible.
- If a personal data breach materially affects your data, EdKnot will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.
- No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, so users should keep passwords private and report suspicious activity promptly.
11.User rights and requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, object to, export, or request information about personal data processing.
- For users in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 provides rights to access a summary of your personal data and its processing, correct and erase your data, nominate a person to exercise your rights, and use the grievance-redressal process described in this policy — with escalation to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
- You can withdraw consent for optional processing (such as marketing or analytics) at any time without affecting the services that do not depend on it.
- Requests can be sent to [email protected].
- EdKnot may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
- Some requests may be limited by legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, dispute, audit, or platform-integrity requirements.
12.Children and younger learners
EdKnot accounts are intended for users aged 18 and above. Learners below 18 may use EdKnot only through an account created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent for the processing described in this policy.
- EdKnot does not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parent or guardian consent where consent is required by law.
- EdKnot does not use children’s data for behavioural tracking or targeted advertising.
- If you believe a child has provided information without required consent, contact [email protected] and we will review and remove it where required.
13.Communications and marketing
EdKnot may send transactional, account, security, payment, product, support, and optional marketing communications.
- Transactional and security messages may be necessary and cannot always be disabled while an account is active.
- Marketing messages can usually be opted out of through unsubscribe links or by contacting [email protected].
- Opting out of marketing does not remove important account, payment, or service notices.
14.Institute and partner access
EdKnot may provide PTE preparation access through institute, teacher, partner, or enterprise arrangements. In those cases, privacy responsibilities may also be governed by a written agreement or plan configuration.
- Partners must not misuse, resell, export, or disclose learner information beyond authorized PTE preparation purposes.
- Learners connected to an institute or partner account may have activity visible to authorized administrators.
- EdKnot remains an independent PTE preparation service and does not transfer ownership of its platform, content, scoring systems, or data systems to partners.
15.Policy updates and contact
EdKnot may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the website, and continued use of EdKnot after an update means you accept the revised policy.
- For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, email [email protected].
- Include your account email and enough context for the support team to identify the relevant account, payment, page, or PTE attempt.
16.Third-party trademarks and independent status
PTE, PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI, PTE Core, Pearson Test of English, Pearson, and Pearson VUE are trademarks or names owned by their respective rights holders. EdKnot uses these names only to identify the PTE preparation services for which its independently created materials are designed.
