URN (Unique Reference Number)

The Unique Reference Number issued with a UKVI-approved PTE score report. When you take PTE Academic UKVI or PTE Home as a Secure English Language Test, Pearson generates a URN that identifies your result in the Home Office's systems; you enter this number on your UK visa or settlement application, and caseworkers use it to verify your score directly rather than relying on the paper report. Standard, non-UKVI PTE results do not come with a URN, which is one practical way to check you have booked the right version of the test.
