SELT (Secure English Language Test)
A Secure English Language Test — a test approved by UK Visas and Immigration for visa and settlement applications. SELTs must be taken at UKVI-approved centres under enhanced identity checks, and the resulting score report carries a Unique Reference Number (URN) that the Home Office uses to verify the result. Pearson's SELT offerings are PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Home; a standard PTE Academic score, however strong, is not a SELT and cannot support a UK visa application. Required levels vary by route — the Skilled Worker route asks for CEFR B2 from 8 January 2026.
