Sending Scores
Sending scores is the official way a PTE result reaches an institution or authority: an electronic send from your myPTE account, which the recipient verifies through Pearson. Sends are unlimited and free, and they are the only form of PTE result most institutions accept, because copies of the report cannot be verified on their own.
The send is made from the results area of myPTE once the report is published. Institutions receive it through Pearson’s system rather than as an attachment.
How a send works
In myPTE, open your results, choose the institution or organisation from Pearson’s list, and confirm. The recipient can then view and verify the report in Pearson’s system. If an institution is not on the list, its admissions office can usually tell you how it receives PTE results; some accept an uploaded copy and verify it with the score report code.
Visa authorities have their own routes. IRCC receives PTE Core results through the official sharing process for immigration applications, and UK visa applications from a UKVI test use the URN printed on the report.
Timing and validity
Send as soon as the report is published; there is no benefit in waiting and no cost per send. Reports can be sent for as long as the score is valid: two years for most purposes, three years for Australian visa purposes, and without expiry for Canadian citizenship. After validity ends, a new test is needed.
If you re-sit, each test produces its own report, and you choose which to send. Institutions see the report you send, not every test you have taken.

Worked example
A learner with a 68 applies to two universities and one college. Three sends from myPTE on the day the report appears, at no cost. One university asks for the score report code as well for its portal; the learner copies it from the report. All three results are verified within the week.

How much does it cost to send PTE scores?

Can I email my PTE score report to a university?
You can, but most will not accept it as official. They verify results through Pearson, either by an official send from myPTE or by checking the score report code on an uploaded copy.
Do universities see all my PTE attempts?
No. Each test has its own report and you choose which report to send. Recipients see the reports you send them.
