Fourteen days before the test is the last day anything is free. Seven days before is the last day anything is refunded. Diarise both when you book.

Reschedule and Cancellation Policy
Pearson’s reschedule and cancellation policy for PTE sets two lines before the test date: more than 14 full days out you can reschedule free or cancel for a full refund; inside 14 days you cannot reschedule, and cancelling refunds half between 7 and 14 days and nothing at 7 days or fewer. A new test can be booked only after the previous result is released, and up to twelve sittings are allowed in twelve months.
Not on the report. The policy applies in myPTE, where reschedules and cancellations are made and the refund shown depends on the days remaining.
The two lines
Days are counted as full calendar days before the test date. With more than 14 remaining, myPTE lets you move the booking to another date or centre without charge, up to six times for the same appointment, or cancel and receive the full fee back. With 14 or fewer remaining, the reschedule option disappears entirely. Cancelling between 7 and 14 days returns 50% of the fee; cancelling at 7 days or fewer returns nothing. Any new date after a cancellation is a new booking at the full fee.
The asymmetry is deliberate: a change of plan that costs nothing on day 15 costs half a fee on day 14 and a whole fee on day 7.
Booking to the policy
Book only when a full mock says you are within reach, because the surest way to avoid the refund lines is not to need them. Then put two reminders in a calendar on the day you book: the 15-day mark, as the last free day, and the 8-day mark, as the last half-refund day. If a re-sit might be needed, the 12-in-12-months limit is generous, and results in days mean a follow-up sitting can be booked quickly.
Illness and emergencies on the day are handled by Pearson case by case; contact them before the appointment rather than after.

Worked example
A learner booked for the 24th realises on the 9th, fifteen days out, that a work trip clashes. Reschedule: free. Their colleague in the same situation notices on the 11th, thirteen days out. Cancel for 50%, rebook at full fee: about ₹9,450 lost for two days’ delay.
What it shows: The policy punishes late decisions, not changes. Decide early.
